Cloud-based authentication fuels CRYPTOCard's channel growth in Europe

13 July 2010
CRYPTOCard has announced six new European distribution agreements for its cloud-based authentication platform, CRYPTO-MAS. Veridian Al in Ireland, NetBT in Italy and Exer in France are new partners for CRYPTOCard and brings the company’s unique expertise in securing digital identities using a global cloud-based authentication platform to these important new markets. Three existing Nordic partners, Security Distribution in Sweden, Comdec in Denmark and Internet Smartsec in Finland, have also bolstered their agreements with CRYPTOCard based on the first-of-a-kind authentication platform CRYPTO-MAS and the new revenue opportunities it can provide the channel.

CRYPTO-MAS delivers a low cost, reliable platform that benefits from the widest range of tokens, including SMS, phone and Blackberry options, available on any cloud-based authentication service. The benefits of CRYPTO-MAS include; no upfront cost, no ongoing IT & resource overheads and an enterprise 99.999per cent service level, all delivered in a utility-based pricing model.

Distributors and resellers can benefit from the outset and can start selling two-factor authentication to customers far easier and faster than with traditional server-based platforms. Traditional barriers of adoption such as training and tooling up are virtually eliminated through the simplicity of its configuration.

“For us two-factor authentication is an important market and it is growing rapidly and fast. However, the traditional approach of deploying it with an in house server at the customer site is increasing customer IT complexity and creates more work for IT staff,” said Flavio Ghirardi, Net BT, Italy. The cloud-based authentication approach that CRYPTO-MAS provides, changes this entirely, creating a simple and effective way to implement it, helping IT managers to define a budget and to giving them complete control over users access, policy and usage reports.”

CRYPTO-MAS also presents significant new revenue streams for partners looking for new ways to add value to their portfolios by enabling them to uniquely differentiate their service offering and creating opportunities to cast their sales nets to wider audiences. The managed services model also provides greater margins than traditional server-based models, providing annual, repeatable business for partners selling CRYPTO-MAS.

“As a member of the CRYTO-MAS partner programme, we are able to quickly and effectively address the demand for two-factor authentication among our resellers and provide them with new sales opportunities,” said Benny Tjelvling, Managing Director, Security Distribution, Sweden. “As a cloud-based service, CRYPTO-MAS offers customers the most flexible and cost-effective way to secure their remote access and protect their company assets.”

With the growing demand for CRYPTO-MAS, the company expects to substantially grow its customer base across Europe in the next six months.

“CRYPTO-MAS is the first Password-as-a-Service offering on the market and brings the benefits of cloud-based services to the authentication space. From the interest shown among our European partners, we know this is truly exciting a lot of businesses out there, in terms of market differentiation and new revenue streams,” said Gary Marsden, VP Managed Services, CRYPTOCard. “CRYPTO-MAS is a real Trojan Horse and is fuelling demand for two-factor authentication in the UK and globally. We believe this is a win-win for our channel partners and for CRYPTOCard.”

CRYPTOCard is dedicated to being a channel business and supporting its growing ecosystem of Service Providers, System Integrators, VADs and VARs in the winning of business to secure their customers digital identities by appropriate authentication.
